2005 Cote Bonneville DuBrul Vineyard Red Wine
The 2005 Côte Bonneville represents the best expression of our DuBrul Vineyard, resulting from the unique events which shaped that vintage year. In January 2004, an arctic blast struck Washington State, severely damaging many vines. Our vineyard was spared. Like many growers, we opened our vineyard to one-time buyers, so they would have fruit from that vintage. We reduced our own crush in the process.
The ’05 Côte is estate grown Cabernet Sauvigon (63%) and Merlot (37%). The deep garnet color and exuberant aromatics lead to sweet plum, blackberry, bright cherry and cassis flavors which unfold into a long lingering finish. This wine pairs well with Sushi, King Salmon, Moroccan Lamb Kabobs or Steak Diane, followed by a Chocolate-Cherry Truffle Tart.
The wine was vinified in small lots,aged 24 months in new French oak barrels, then bottled, unfined and unfiltered, on August 29, 2006, Alcohol measured 14.2%, pH was 3.48, titrable acidity was 0.61, Actually 451 cases were produced. |
